Finance dashboard for football academies

Together with Free To Dream I built a dashboard that shows an academy which training groups make money and which lose it. Three weeks after launch, 20 academies actively use it.

The problem

Football academies run their finances in spreadsheets. Membership fees, pitch and coach costs, sponsorship and overdue payments sit in different files.

The owner sees the result for the whole academy but not which groups are profitable, or how much cash there will be in a few months.

The solution

  • Profitability of each training group: players, fees, pitch and coach costs.
  • Cash flow and a forecast for the coming months.
  • Receivables with an automatic collection schedule.
  • Data import from SportBM and ProTrainUp, or manual entry.
  • An AI assistant that answers questions about the club's finances and suggests a plan of action.
  • A rule: the dashboard shows no number until you load your own data. Where data is missing it says “No data”, never zero.

The result

Three weeks after launch, 20 academies actively use the dashboard. It is still being developed together with Free To Dream.

A second tool for clubs: DesignMyClub

For the same clubs I built DesignMyClub. A club sets its logo and colours, picks one of 9 templates and prepares a match preview, result or line-up as a post or story.

Four club graphics from DesignMyClub: match preview, countdown, announcement and line-up
Real graphics from the DesignMyClub generator: 1:1 post and 9:16 story.
“A tool that makes running the club's social media several times faster and easier.”

FAQ

Would a similar dashboard work in another industry?

Yes. The same approach, profitability per group, service or client, fits schools, clubs and service businesses: anywhere revenue and costs are spread across many small units.

Which process should your business improve first?

Tell me about one process that takes too much time, causes errors or makes decisions harder. In 30 minutes we'll look at the problem and the data, and agree a concrete next step.
